Television is the only media sector in Chile where private companies compete with a strong and influential state-owned actor, Televisión Nacional de Chile. Like other countries, digitization has drastically changed the media landscape in Chile over the last 10 years, especially considering the country's internet penetration. In particular, podcast consumption is on the rise, and among younger audiences, there is a tendency to look for news on social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and even TikTok. Print media has been the most affected by this development, as magazines have almost disappeared, newspaper circulation has significantly declined, and some of them only sell print copies on weekends.</p>info:eu-repo/semantics/restrictedAccessChilean mass media industryChilean media landscapeDigitizationNewspaper circulationRadio stationsSocial mediaTelevision industryChile: Exploring the Media Landscape in the Digital AgeChapter
