| dc.description |
Telemedicine has emerged as a significant solution to combat the COVID-19 pandemic. Furthermore, it represents an effective approach for caring for patients in countries with extensive geographic dispersion or where healthcare institutions lack the capacity to cover the entire territory. However, the implementation of informed consent has presented additional challenges during this period, and it is evident that there are still pertinent questions deserving the attention of professionals in the fields of medicine, nursing, and jurisprudence. In nursing care, telemedicine has already proven its utility in managing chronic patients, making the reevaluation of informed consent under these conditions of paramount importance. This article examines the concept of informed consent and its historical evolution, the inherent tensions surrounding informed consent within the context of telemedicine, guiding ethical principles for informed consent practice, and the legal framework through which informed consent in telemedicine can be formalized.
| eng |
