| dc.description | <p>Learning is a continuous, natural, and universal process that occurs in the course of life from the integration of different perspectives, experiences and situations, in the face of an occupational need perceived by the individual, forming known neural networks in the brain that provide the person of a number of resources and strategies to perform in their daily routine. Affectivity, or the psychoemotional component involved in each experience, has an substantial and definitive role in the storage of this learning, which is associated with the occupational identity that we as human beings build during our life history, which determines what, when and why we remember or evoke from our different types of memories, from the lived body, understanding it as the one in charge of learning and giving meaning to the experience. Through the chapter, the team seeks to demonstrate the impact of significant learning acquired by a person from early childhood, contrasting it in an old age with Alzheimer's dementia, where the person, despite the loss of cognitive functions, is capable of evoking significant learning that forms part of their history and occupational identity until the advanced stages. The role of identity or occupational history will also be addressed, as a substantial element in the process of evaluation, intervention and monitoring of any intervention program associated with this group according to the impact that implies on the person's functional capacity during evolution of elderly age, but also in the well-being that it will provide to the elderly person, directly influencing the quality of life, based on cases.</p> | eng |
